Loop Med, also known as "Loop", is a mobile healthcare communication network connecting patients, supporters and medical professionals focusing on the day of procedure. We provide an app-based system for tracking patient progress through the phases of a facility-based medical procedure. The HIPAA-compliant app allows a patient-selected support network to receive periodic updates (in app displays, email, text, push notifications) from the patient s healthcare providers regarding the patient s status during a procedure, initially focused on surgery. The Loop app has the benefit of keeping a patient s family/friend supporters informed and engaged without having to be on-site in a waiting area or struggling to get through to a busy provider on the phone. Often the individual loved one of the patient who is appointed the primary point of contact between the healthcare providers and the patient's support network gets overwhelmed by demands for information -- the Loop app strives to make this anxious situation easier for all involved. Loop is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and was founded by a diverse group of medical professionals in 2015 to work with health systems, hospitals, and surgery centers to help empower patients by keeping their loved ones informed and engaged.
